{Lookbook: Denim Jacket}

One of the Valentine's Day gifts I received this year was a remote control for my camera. Not the most romantic gift but certainly my favorite. Now I can take lookbook photos without running back and forth to push the shutter release button.

Moving on to today's lookbook series. I love denim jacket and certainly agree with everyone that this is a wardrobe staple. It's my to-go piece for weekends in Spring and summer. It instantly adds a relaxed yet classic vibe to almost any outfit.

{Lookbook: White Blouse}

Inspired by Wendy from Wendy's Lookbook who has a great youtube video on how to pair with a white blouse, I am putting together my version of wearing this all time classic in a woman's closet.

{Alexander's Monthly Photo - Month 17}

My handsome Mr. Alexander turned 17 months on Monday. This little man is truly the best thing ever in my life.

{Winter Playground}

Some playground photos from last weekend. I am sure after today's storm, the playground has become inaccessible again.

{Winter Fun}

Winter is long and sometimes very nasty in New England. Instead of complaining, we try to look at it in a positive way and enjoy as much as we can. This is when we feel proud that we have a papa who is Russian!

{Alexander's Monthly Photo - Month 16}

The most exciting progress in the past month was that Alexander started to talk and comprehend, in three languages. For a while I have been really worried about his language skills. He lives in a complicated language environment where I talk to him exclusively in Chinese, papa in Russian, I talk with papa in English, and daycare teachers in English. Apparently his little brain has been processing all those different languages.

Here are his first words in English, Russian, and Chinese, respectively.

Everything - every time we use the word in our conversation, he repeats. Most of the time, it's about whether he ate everything for lunch in the daycare.

Mangdarin - means clementine in Russian. This is absolutely his favorite word and fruit right now. I use it a lot as a pacifier.

Mei'le - means no more in Chinese. This is used when I stop feeding him more Mangdarin:)

He likes to play "High Five" with me, but he always say "Ah Dah" instead of "high five". He understands "tiger" in all three languages as well, and has become so familiar with his favorite books that he will pick up the right book from the pile whenever I recite the first few sentences of the story. It is amazing.
